Like Pi,
I’m on a boat
in an interesting predicament.
Stranded with:
Intrusive thoughts of life + death,
Anxiety the Shapeshifter, and
Uncertainty.
When they begin to fight one another,
I sink inside myself and imagine
swimming to shore.

Can a soul do so?
When we pass through the veil,
does our file get downloaded
on a great hard drive somewhere
as a new format?
Do we hear a bell
and receive the wings of angels?
I hope to know what to expect
when the time comes,
but for now, my soul rests here.
