If you wanted/intended to do a “normal“ Christmas, but couldn’t afford to buy anything this year, don’t view it as any sort of personal failure. Take pride in the fact that you didn’t feed any of your money to any exploitive corporation .

One of my favorite things that’s ever been on Netflix is Inside Job. It was funny, satirical, looked great, and it was something I hadn’t seen before. I thought it was good for 3 or 4 seasons. Like Glow, Netflix really left us hanging.

It is helpful to humanity to understand costs outside of one’s own when considering an opportunity, and to measure the benefits up against them as the benefits are often meager and shallow while the costs may be profound.

I’m not excusing anyone, but I think we can’t ignore people’s natural disgust reflex. It’s always going to be a combination of instinct and learned perception. Expecting everyone to just outgrow it is unrealistic.
Disgust at the disgust response of others must also be overcome for peace.
