Recently retired accountant and happy never to have to produce another set of accounts or VAT return. Bibliophile, Italophile, music lover.
Just finished watching Severance. It’s been a while since I’ve watched a TV drama that has stayed with me long after the credits roll.

So I decided to try Severance. Here are my observations from the first two episodes.
Adam Scott is a different person from Andrew Scott. I spent the whole of the first episode wondering when the latter would appear.
Who is the boss lady of the innies? She looks just like Liza Turbuck.

Watching Wolf Hall. I’ve always felt that, after the initial unpleasantness, Ann of Cleves had the best deal by far of all of Henry’s wives.

Recently finished reading this. Highly recommend it. Interesting narrative style. It is set in the North East, near where I was born and grew up, which gave it added interest for me

Just finished this. Brilliant read. Recommended for all lovers of meta-fiction and humorous, or state of the nation novels.

Post you from a different era. Me in (I think) 1981 at a ball in Oxford.

I do enjoy Wolf Hall but do wonder why, in these days of CGI, the locations, now with wear and tear of many centuries, are not made to look less worn, as they would have looked in the 16th century.

I’ve spent the last few days redecorating while listening to the audiobook of Jonathan Coe’s The Proof of My Innocence. I’m not much of an audiobook person but I think this has converted me. I’d normally buy a Coe book as soon as it’s out but I know my reading time is very limited. Perfect solution

If you're seeing "Invalid Handle" on your profile, this should resolve on its own — thanks for your patience!! 🦋

Hi to those I've managed to find on here from Twitter / RL. Haven't had much time to spend on here today but plan to do more at the weekend. BTW, why does it say 'invalid handle' under my name on here? Anyone know?
