In which a necklace tells me that I am wrong. Turns out one piece was always meant to be a pendant (though no one told ME!), and the other is a shout out to an as yet unidentified team.

Showing off some of the hand cast crosses I make from metal clay. This video is from 2023, so the crosses I use most have changed a bit, but you can see them all at whytewing

Plan for the day: Finish things! This is from 2023, so these necklaces are long since finished. To see them in all their glory, check us out at whytewing

I have big ideas for toggles... And so it begins! This is Metal Adventures Copper metal clay. I'm Allison Whyte, from whytewing

Recycling metal clay scrap, part 2. Bronze clay. In which I definitely add too much water while trying to show you how it's done.

Paperwork Wednesday. Grab a timer and give the paperwork it's chunk of time. You don't have to spend the whole day. You don't have to do the WHOLE stack. This isn't "All or Nothing." Every bit of progress you make matters. You've got this!

Paperwork Wednesday, and the 1000 things I've done that are NOT paperwork. I'm Allison Whyte from whytewing.com and the lengths I'll go to in order to avoid paperwork can be impressive.

Fire! .999 silver in the kiln. This was filmed in 2022. Later, I started working much more in base metals, but am now returning to silver so I thought I'd share this early part of my adventure. Each type of metal has it's own personality. I rarely think of "fine" versus "base" metals anymore. I

Making a necklace display from wood and copper fittings. The irony of saying "I can make that myself?" when I've heard others say it to me so often is not lost on me... But now I have to try.

Talking about stringing pearls while I'm unstringing jade. Who has words of wisdom for someone just learning to knot onto silk?

Restoring vintage silver chains without corrosive polish. Hydrogen sulfide in trace amounts in the air around us interacts with silver to create silver sulfide (tarnish). If you offer the sulfur something it likes better than silver, the sulfur will jump ship and bond to the new metal, leaving your

Pretty rocks! Hematite stone plated with sterling silver, paired with Amazonite. One option for beaders trying to maintain quaility without breaking the bank is hematite (or the man-made equivalent that is much more common in the marketplace: hemalyke) plated with the metal of your choice. I've got
