Today, we’re in Parliament. Our event at the House of Lords, with Baroness Natalie Bennett, asks the question: Have we reached the tipping point for toxic period products?
With our expert panel we’ll explore the evidence and call for urgent regulation to make all period products safe.

This week I will be hosting a meeting with the Women’s Environmental Network to push for regulation of period products.

Because no one should be exposed to toxic chemicals every month just for having a period.

Today, we delivered the #ToxicFreePeriodsPetition to DEFRA, urging the UK government to regulate toxic chemicals in period products.
It’s time for stronger regulation and a commitment to protect the health of women, girls and everyone who menstruates.

Tampons are less regulated than candles.

Despite pesticides found at 40x safe drinking water limits and cross-party support for change, period products remain underregulated as health products.

Thousands in the UK are accusing Johnson & Johnson of selling asbestos-contaminated baby powder.

We urgently need stronger regulation of personal care products & full ingredient transparency.

The EU is at a critical crossroads, revising a future-proof REACH and adopting an ambitious universal PFAS restriction

Today, more than 100 organisations launched the #StopPFAS manifesto, urging EU leaders to support a universal PFAS restriction – not just partial bans

💚 Reason for hope - Regulation works:

@ylaleena.bsky.social Executive Director of the @eea.europa.eu, who had previously tested her blood with @eeb.org, showed a decline in PFAS levels, reflecting trends observed among the European population for restricted PFAS.

💡 Why it matters?

PFAS contamination spares no one - people or the planet

New “replacement” PFAS keep building up, proving partial
bans aren’t enough

’Cleanup could cost the EU €2 trillion over 20 years - prevention is far cheaper

🔎 Findings briefly:

- Between three and eight PFAS chemicals were detected in the blood of all EU officials tested

- Half of EU leaders tested exceed levels linked to health risks

- Six PFAS (PFOA, PFOS, PFHxS, PFNA, PFDA & PFUnDA) are already regulated in Europe - yet still found in their blood

The @eeb.org, together with DK and @chemsec.bsky.social has tested the blood for PFAS of 24 EU leaders from 19 countries

🩸More than half of the politicians tested have concerning levels of #PFAS their blood

We’ve been outraged by the far-right marches & the horrific, racially motivated rape of a Sikh woman in Oldbury.

These are not isolated. Climate justice is inseparable from racial justice — we will not be silent.
