This green bird is the Spotted Catbird (Ailuroedus melanotis), a rainforest bird of West Papua (but also found in Australia and parts of Indonesia). Locally known as “Kuansu,” it gets its name from its cat-like, wailing call.

Endemic to a small area in Ceará, this species is found only near freshwater springs along the Chapada do Araripe. They are Critically Endangered due to habitat loss and water depletion.
