Former Congressman. Running for Wake County District Attorney because the stakes for our community, and our democracy have never been higher.

When I served in Congress, I brought home millions for law enforcement — including funding for the Wake County Sheriff’s Office to purchase body-worn cameras.

Body cameras protect the public and officers, keep us safe, and strengthen accountability.

Little-known fact: I was a TV news reporter for a short time when I lived in Fort Worth, Texas.

Big Bird was a tough interview. #TBT

Proud to have Durham Mayor Leonardo Williams supporting our campaign for Wake County District Attorney.

Durham and Wake aren’t strangers — a little-known fact is that hundreds of Durham residents live in NW Wake and will be voting for Wake DA. Smart justice doesn’t stop at county lines.

Donald Trump can’t pardon state crimes.

I’m running for Wake County District Attorney to tackle political corruption and ensure accountability under state law — because justice shouldn’t disappear when a pardon pen comes out at the White House.

Grateful for the chance to speak to the Lakes Area Democrats of Wake County last night.

Always encouraged by these conversations about public safety, accountability, and building a justice system that works for everyone.

That time I asked Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell about the Grateful Dead during a Financial Services Committee hearing… and yes — he really is a Deadhead.

I’m sharing this as a fun throwback, but also because the independence of the Federal Reserve is under attack.

Great energy at our Cary house party last night — and a lot of good, honest conversations about public safety, accountability, and what we want from our next District Attorney.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to be part of it.

Bob Weir helped create the soundtrack of our lives — music about community, freedom, and finding your people.

Thinking of his loved ones and everyone who loves the Grateful Dead, the last great American adventure.

When I stood on the House floor to recognize the @gratefuldead.bsky.social after Dead and Company’s final show, it was because the music shaped so many of our lives — including mine. 🧵

Grateful for a wonderful visit to Springfield Baptist Church this morning. Thanks to Rev. Dr. Kevin Sturdivant for the warm welcome and kind words.

I enjoyed connecting with members of the congregation for important conversations about public safety and justice in Wake County. — in Raleigh.

It was great to welcome our next Speaker of the House, @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social, to North Carolina this afternoon.

Grateful for his friendship from my time in Congress and for his steady leadership as we work to take back the House in November.
