**warning: dry ice can be dangerous, it should not be placed in a glass or plastic container as it could explode and result in flying shrapnel and the smoke released when dry ice (aka frozen solid carbon dioxide) is not water vapour but CO2, so don't inhale it lol.

i've been too scared to play it in ages but Tactical Nexus still has the most fascinating dev team on earth. last month they built their own Metaverse VR Platform entirely from scratch just for their internal meetings
After researching and testing various options within our team, we concluded that using the metaverse as a work environment within Team-Nexus itself—setting external factors aside—was highly effective. So, we built an RTMP server for streaming, developed a 3D engine based on Dxlib in C++, and improved a previously developed communication engine to construct the metaverse environment for use within Team-Nexus. ▲This world was created using flat surfaces and similar elements, leveraging the in-program crafting features and image upload functions. I myself have no 3D expertise, so we currently have a graphic designer studying 3D in parallel with Tactical Nexus development.

just finished Poor People, the last nonfiction Vollmann i hadn't started + def the 1st one i'd start with now LOL - short and (bitter)sweet, full of all the worldly warmth + acidic darkness of all his other essays... he writes a more crushing "getting to The Point" finale than even Tim Rogers could

i love first editions bc this is the most unassuming author bio ever written lmao - doesn't even mention him joining the afghan mujahideen a few years before (literally the novel's allegorical impetus)
William T. Vollmann was born in Los Angeles in 1959. He studied comparative literature at Cornell and now lives in San Francisco where he works as a computer programmer. You Bright and Risen Angels is his first novel.

i finally remembered to finish adding all the single-image entries lol 🎉🎉🎉 in 2026 i WILL figure out how to make a multi-page comix template work so i don't need to maintain 50 separate HTML files (impossible challenge)!!!!!
