Sad update- Briar Rose Fibers won't be at Rhinebeck after all due to health issues. The stock she was going bring is online at www.briarrosefibers.net

I had hoped to be done the toe of this sock tonight, but I ended up ripping back twice. As a bit of process knitting, it's at least helped me pass time here and there.

#ShowMeYourKnits sock week

Yarn is by Tamarack Farm

Pattern is Vanilla is the New Black by Anneh Fletcher
Yes, I'm enjoying the ribbed detail on the heel and the way it fits my high instep. My partner uses the Strong heel exclusively these days.
A little sock action for socktober week on #ShowMeYourKnits
Both socks are based on the Vanilla is the New Black pattern, and both are close to the toe.
How about some orange-colored flowers for October? #arboretum

Autumn is just beginning to show at the arboretum, the leaves mostly still green. Pumpkins help set the mood, and looking close reveals changes taking place.
I went to the #arboretum recently but haven't shared evidence! Here are a few highlights.

Happy #SOCKTOBER knitters 🧦🧶! Surely everyone guessed this week’s theme!? #ShowMeYourKnits week 62: show me your SOCKS!

In honour of the occasion, I am ignoring all other socks in progress & starting a fancy pair of colourwork/ cable socks for myself 💅! Seward Socks by Caitlin Hunter in Exmoor Sock
I decided to chain-ply the singles because instant gratification. I had spinning bowls on either side of my body on the couch. It was a great time. #spinningyarn #supportspinning
For #ShowMeYourKnits showing care, here are a couple knits for friends as they battled life-threatening illnesses.

I love the framing of this week's theme on #ShowMeYourKnits

I have some free patterns out there for prayer shawls; get free pdfs on Ravelry or read them directly off the web sway.office.com/Y2krqwLRQDtG...

An acquaintance reached out for a prayer square with a heart, and I'm so grateful she did.
I did a thing this week that I've wanted to for some time: canoe on a river in the pine barrens. The best part is I did it with a friend. While I was waiting to meet up, I got a bit of spinning done, which I try to always keep handy. Not pictured: all the trees we had to dodge.

I usually default to spinning from a worsted style prep, but my heart is with spinning woolen preps. I'm currently spinning this Falkland top dyed by Fuzzyfrog Fibers by teasing out a single staple length and folding it over my finger. Works great!

Thanks! Hahaha, I can't figure it out either, but I'm sure it was unflattering.
The #autumnknitting theme for #ShowMeYourKnits is too good; so here's a few more projects on theme

Here's a hat I designed for my Rhinebeck knit one year that made the front page of Ravelry and people requested a pattern. It's a really easy intro to colorwork if you're looking to dip your toes in. Getting the colors right is really rewarding. #ShowMeYourKnits

Mimicking the colors of the real show-stoppers at Rhinebeck - the trees - this fun toque flies off the needles and onto your head. The banded structure of the design lends itself to knitting in your t...

#ShowMeYourKnits double dip: a couple designs I made for Autumn 🍂
TriTwist Cowl is perfect in Briar Rose Fibers Abundance. Word on the street is that this staple of Rhinebeck is returning to the festival this year!

Road To Dutchess County hat is all about the foliage, knit in Harrisville Highland
I do love the middling weather for adding bits of wool about my body in the fall!
