I don't think there will be commissions in the future. It's too stressful for me, and that's not the relationship I want with art, if I even want one at all. That's what I'm trying to decide right now.
I'm flattered people like my art, but I honest-to-god don't understand why.

I don't think it's normal to struggle this much. I can't even draw things right now that I've drawn tons of times before, and I'm not sure why. People don't just forget skills. That's not how it works.

Art is so unapproachable for me. Every other skill I've ever tried to learn in life has been reinforced by repetition and thoughtful application. Not art. Every time I sit down to do it, it's a struggle. I've been on the brink of quitting so many times this year and I don't know how to fix it.

Getting reminded of how expensive games are right now. First you got things like (all CAD):
Shinobi is $40.
Silksong is $30.

And then the insanity that is:
Silent Hill is $100.
Sonic Racing is $100.
Ghost of Yotei is $100.
Hell is Us is $80.
Not to mention Nintendo.

As all this bluesky shit is going on, I offer a (slightly hypocritical) solution: newgrounds. They're still there. They're still not giving in, as far as I know.

I really need to move my shit over there, because I'll be honest, once bsky goes under, I think I'm just done.

I don't own anything except for the lines I draw, and you can copy those too. Just throw me or whoever else a bone and credit us. :>

In the pursuit of a method or technique that works best for me, I've explored all sorts of avenues. I've used 3D posing dolls, I've traced 3D posing dolls, I've traced references, I use references whenever I can, rulers, etc. You name it.

Only plagiarism is cheating. Everything else is fair game.

I don't know how many baby artists are following me, but if you are and you've ever been worried about tracing or using references or any other tool: don't be. As long as you're not passing off others' work as your own, you're fine. Carve out whatever path you need to to express your art.

I wanted to wait until after I beat Silksong to offer my final thoughts on it, but I don't think I'll be making it there. It's too long, it's not fun, and after 40 hours and being well into Act 3, I think I'm just gonna drop it. Easily one of the most disappointing experiences I've had with a game.

I skipped through the Direct for MP4, so I missed the fact that they're trying to resell the one of the biggest flops in gaming history (the VirtualBoy) as nostalgiabait, amidst all the other anti-consumer stuff (pre-release DLC? Nuts).

I've never been more content not buying Nintendo.
