A traditional, mixed media art piece involving painting with water-soluble markers and watercolour pencils, black ink pens and coloured pencil crayons. Inspired by Pin-Up art and the tabletop role-playing game, Dungeons and Dragons.

The image is of a humanised mimic. The mimic itself is a treasure chest full of teeth with a large tongue. Attached to the skin of the tongue, sits a monstrous feminine figure with a mouth in place of a stomach and hips. She has one hand reached upwards, coming through slimy, green hair. There is a hand in a pool of blood behind the chest and gold coins on the floor around her.

In the background is a brick wall with a shackle and some chains attached. A broken chain lays on the floor at the body's feet.

if you feel it's messing you up, step away. don't assume it's messing everyone up and you need to eradicate it because you caught a case of the feel-bads from something. go sit with that and think about why instead of pissing in everyone else's cheerios.

i've started making references for when i get "stuck" on a character not look right.

here's edie, which i also used to practice that eye-style and to have some practice drawing her slightly new hair style.

the start of chapter 5 is very edie-focused so i needed to do some prep. 🤡

digital drawing. reference sheet showing the head of edie, a woman with a bob. there are 12 heads including 3 drawings from different angles, 6 emotions, 1 hair variation (tied up) and 2 clown paint designs.

Like you said, there is no official label for it. Maybe just make sure to tag it with #spider & #arachnophobia ?

Idk if there are blacklist options or extensions for bsky, but that seems like the only thing you can do

I have a design that involves spider legs coming from a pill sleeve & it literally never crossed my mind (nor did it with ANY of the bug stuff);;

What's done is done. Tbh if I'm not sure I usually label to save myself the anxiety

time. I was thinking though. Online you can curate your own experience & avoid things if you want to (so long as people use labels like this)

...however, in person? I don't really feel like artists SHOULD be held to the same standard. Like real life isn't always a safe space for people, you know?

For a while now my thought process was "if it's something that could reasonably happen irl & trigger trauma then label it"

That's kinda why this last piece has brought this topic to mind for me because, honestly... it's not remotely meeting that criteria?
