New paper published @flissmurtagh.bsky.social Funding for palliative research remains very low: out of total of 18,023 health research awards in 2022, only 136 related to palliative research – just 0.26% of the total £4.2billion awarded. See spcare.bmj.com/content/earl...

My absolute pleasure to talk about palliative care in the ICU at this year’s @ics-updates.bsky.social #SOA2025.

It makes me very happy to see how much traction the conversation is getting and the eagerness from both palliative and intensive care to learn and grow.

#EAPC2025 has crept up and is finally here! Landed in Helsinki yesterday and excited for a jam packed programme. Excited to be with colleagues from all around the globe to consider where we have come from, where we are at, and where we are going with palliative care. @wolfsonpallcare.bsky.social

Nationally data is gathered on quality of cancer care when CURATIVE- screening, access to treatment & outcomes, survival…..

But no agreed measure/monitoring of QUALITY for those with advanced cancer

This feels wrong!

Great talk & discussion by Dr Lesley Henson 👏👏
