Seeing the replies affirms my belief that Splatoon is a gold mine for unique and interesting conditions, ailments, sicknesses and more.
Inkfish biology can be played with quite a bit, and people seem to like what people come up with.

Had a thought at some point. What if there was a skin condition that caused childhood skin to not shed into adulthood.
Had more notes about this like how to deal with it, dryness of the areas, how the coloration works etc.

I 100% agree, and that's why I made my own for my AU.
I call it clayed ink syndrome and it causes the ink inside the internal ink system, which is responsible for some body support, "hair" color, and changing into swim form, into malleable clay-like solid as opposed to a liquid.
