Why - it makes logical sense in a world where our move and purchase is governed by billionaire technocrats. I would much rather put my faith in a democratically elected government and a single method of identication as many countries have. One wallet - one card instead of a plethora of cards.

The public sector has to cough up because of the extensive private sector development on the Llanfoist side of town. Why wasn’t the safe route to town part of a S106 agreement with developers?

Why can’t UK supermarkets be like the rest of Europe and sell vegetables and fruit such as aubergines and peppers by the kilo? Wake up Tesco, Waitrose, Aldi, Sainsbury and the rest. Over cimputerised and homogenised!!!

Insane that the British Foreign Secretary can meet with the former leader of Al Qaeda in Syria while, at home, on the same day, his government arrested 20 people on 'terrorism offenses' for supporting a non-violent pro-Palestine protest group.

Who runs cricket? Here we are at the height of summer. It is Saturday tomorrow and no men’s cricket games are due to take place. After the test match excitement this is truly daft timetabling @wisdencricket.bsky.social @thefinalword.bsky.social @theanalyst1.bsky.social

@profgalloway.com stick to tech business. Surely you do not think we are safer now than 18 months ago? Korea, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan should have told you military involvement does not yield long term benefit. How can Israel’s response in Gaza and a preemptive strike on Iran be morally right?

Anybody else fed up with cats hunting and killing young birds for fun and defecating in their newly planted vegetable beds? We need controls placed on domestic cats in Wales so that a neighbours friendly puss doesn’t become another neighbour’s unwanted pest, dangerous to health.

As someone who argued for the maintenance of tolls on the Severn Crossings into Wales we now see the real cost of removal could be as high as £300m on the old bridge to replace cabling which is under pressure from 36% increases in HGV and all traffic. Let’s get freight back on rail.

Why do we get excited about this? Money usually buys success in the Premier League like most major European leagues with wealthy foreign owners often American buying their way in to clubs. You can get a club to the Premier but very small chance of winning it.

The answer is simple - reduce the weight of lorries. Take a look at roads like the A470, A483 and A44 where trucks are eroding the edges of roads. We have seen at least 2 trucks topple over in the Builth area alone on the A470 and who knows what damage they are doing to the Wye bridge?

Where are you reporting from? Not a mention where I live in Wales. The issues are wind farms, agriculture, housing prices and second homes, cost of living, bank closures, Council Tax, closure of swimming pools, poor GP services and lack of healthcare, the Welsh language and not in any order

Has anyone heard about leadership? It’s not about fighting on your enemies territory as your enemy it’s about being yourself. Nobody can out trump Trump which is the source of his success. I don’t want a political space full of untruths and misinformation so use the law and watch AOC and Sanders.

That’s me done with @teamlabouruk.bsky.social . Airport expansion for an American theme park to encourage overseas visitors to an old brick works. We need bricks to build houses! Build houses not theme parks #housing

Tresaith beach in Wales’ unusual spring - why be anywhere else? For 10 minutes let’s bury our heads in the sand and ignore the authoritarians destroying our environment and enjoy nature for what it is.

Come to Builth Wells - this weekend its been like sitting in the middle of a racetrack with the sound of mororbikes and blue light sirens. Something has to be done - it’s intimidating on the roads and as for bikes keeping to the speed limits 😂

Boots the Chemist and Waterstones are American owned so choose your pharmacist and bookseller with care, if you can. The only pharmacy in Builth Wells is US owned. That’s wrong. Tariff action can work both ways. Support local businesses on the high streets of Wales It’s not just Amazon #annibyniaeth

Maybe it's time to start thinking unthinkable things (thanks, Trump!) and try to work out how to carve up the world into economic superpower uberblocs?

Imagine EU+UK+Japan+Australia+Canada+(maybe)China all with low/no tariffs between each other and high tariffs vs the US.

Trump would **** himself.

How many people who voted Labour now realise they have Tory light in Westminster? It is time for an indeoendent Wales #annibyniaeth with a significant digital service tax to fund public services
April 5, 2025 at 8:29 AM
#digitalservicestax is a weapon in the #uk armoury against the #US and #Trump. It should be increased from 2% and not abandoned as a bargaining tool over tariffs and the income put to reducing the bad impacts of social media amongst children
April 3, 2025 at 6:22 AM
A note to the UK government. You do not appease a bully but stand up to them. Only 4.23% of the world’s people live in the US; if we oppose Trump and show togetherness the US and its people will be the victims of the bullly, not us.

What happens to the frozen fuel from the Space X rocket which caused the strange phenomenon seen over the skies of Wales on Monday? What is its environmental impact? Can anyone out there help and answer these questions? Thank you - a frightening sight in the sky.

In 1978 I wrote my degree dissertation on L’Etranger so Camus it remains after approaching half a century. It was written in the new Social Science library in Bristol and then two fingered typed on a typewriter.
