I've had this image in sketch form for a few years. It remained unpainted. It felt just a bit too personal because this is the inscription I had on my wife's headstone. However, it's done now and I'm glad that I painted it.

Today marks another year since losing my wife Lisa. It won't be a day of sadness. It'll be a day of remembering what a wonderful person she was. I was lucky to spend so many years with her.

Today would have been my 29th wedding anniversary.

I've come a long way since painting this. Today isn't about grief and pain, it's about remembering a wonderful wife and mother who I was lucky enough to spend so many years with.

Framed and ready to go to its new home.

'Things I'd Do For You (Part 1)'.
Traditional, grey-stained cassetta frame.

These frames were commonly used for panel paintings during the Renaissance. They emphasise the artwork within a well-defined border, giving depth and shadow.
