I've been super critical of this type of survival game (I call them rust-likes) but they can be done well.
I do feel like they will always be a little worse than the more intensive survival games a la vintage story, zomboid, CDDA, etc. but that feeling is mostly because I value those traits more

I realize now that a survival game similar to a zomboid and not a rust with diagetic music (e.g CD players) could totally add several hours of diagetic podcasts that can trickle feed worldbuilding to the players

I have to appreciate Receiver 2 as a game and how it helps with trauma.
It is a therapy game but one that is closer to the journey of mental health rather than some variant of cozy.
