It’s just the wider feeling that a lot of things are being thrown together with little long term thought at the moment. And with a lot of big injuries I get that, but at some point a new long term plan would be good to see.

There was a hilarious bit where Hangman and Omega reunited…then haven’t interacted since whilst both highlighting they haven’t got any friends or can trust anyone. 🤷‍♂️

It also gives them a huge excuse though. ‘Oh we’ve had to make so many changes with all these injuries’ I’m not sure if Ospreay, Swerve, Omega weren’t out that the doled run and him playing second fiddle to Darby/Mox wouldn’t have happened. If anything it would be more noticeable.

That would be my story. Have The Opps beat them on Dynamite, Joe choking out MVP, and he realises they need fresh blood. He stays as manager but they bring in a new younger member. Keeps them in six man tags, freshens them up, makes them more versatile, younger.

Plus there’s the hall of fame, playing in some big stadiums for one last time, the merch etc. He’s 55 next month, he’s probably got a year or two at best and AEW should be targeting younger guys for top talent (it should be a big difference compared to top of the WWE card where everyone’s over 40)

It’ll be good, they always are but nothing has me compelled. Be curious to see how it does on PPV. You’d like to hope that high standard is what sells it as it’s lacking in star power.

Well WWE just turning TNA and AAA into WWE doesn’t help, NJPW and AEW booking is fairly uninspiring and WWE is back to pre 2022 booking. Awful lot of injuries to top talent too, a lot of stars on their way out. Yeah I can definitely feel that, not even that excited about the AEW PPV.

Why do we keep avoiding the fact he’s 55 in November? Dave keeps highlighting this big deal he’s going to get and how much an impact it’ll be. He’s 55! AEW shouldn’t be signing him to a new deal unless he wants to do a retirement match soon.

Just compare Fraxiom to 12-18 months ago and it’s so sad. The course for talented guys in their 20s is depressing and something AEW should be looking at. Bottom of the card, going nowhere while the main event is clogged up by +40 part timers. WCW in 98/99 everybody.

I mean, in all honesty he should think about retiring. He’s never been the same since the shoulder injury and he’s worked a handful of matches since. He’ll be nearly 46 in theory when he comes back and for what?! To look a shadow of himself, not being able to do the majority of what made him?!

That’s…a choice. Can only hope it’s similar to the angle and they approach it like Goldberg v Raven back in 98. Anything else could lead to a very flat debut that could devalue him immediately. Needs to be put over strong.
