I like the rain—less traffic 😏. Late Aug–Sept in Scotland: 15–20 °C,. fewer midges. I’ve often found it driest then—sometimes a “false summer” ( heatwave) About then! But good waterproofs are still key. Wish I could control the weather.

Too many deer on big estates, but owners profit from hunting so don’t want to cull them. Meanwhile, deer eat young trees. Tree planting is often just greenwashing—small fenced plots to say they’ve done something. Land is owned by big firms, many not even based here. It's a deeper issue.

Some parts of Scotland are called the 'desert of life.' I can see why you'd associate that with the Southwest, it's not natural. In the 1700s, most of Scotland's trees were cut down and never replaced, leaving the land barren. Before that, Scotland was covered in forest, much like Canada is today.

Yh I wish wolfman still mead them. I cant get the clip anymore. I had fit new ones. They now make dry bag style tank bags. I just use a dry bag inside. I put my camra gear in. Easy for me get to. This tank bag is my hand bag lol. I love the pockets on the sides. I used have pins on them.

7-year-old Wolfman motorcycle tank bag, used daily as main transport. Remarkably durable—still going strong after over 70,000 miles across Europe, including trips to Spain, the NC500 in Scotland, Orkney, Wales, and all over the UK. Only needed to replace the clips. 20L capacity still handles shopping and travel gear with ease. Discontinued now, but no replacement has matched it.
