The STP newsletter has returned! In which I elaborate on what I mean when I say we don't publish moralising stories. Expect copious reference to Walter Benjamin.

For those who don't know, Cursed Morsels is based out of Minneapolis. You've probably noticed that shit's kinda fucked here. That said, thousands of people are organizing with their neighbors to stop fascism and provide mutual aid, which is pretty goddamn cool. Let's keep it up. ❤️

How many people has ICE killed at this point? We're getting so much out of MN now, but are there more across the country where ICE is deployed that aren't on video? DHS is actively working to cover up these murders, so will we ever know? Abolish ICE and do it before more people die!

Hopefully all this AI crap will spur a counter-revolution of genuine, human-made art. Theaters showing indie films, libraries hosting local artists, bookstores featuring work from local writers. If corporations are going to abandon human artists, then let's build communities that help them thrive.

Rough week for Detroit sports but think the Wolverines had a good season, all things considered. Disappointing ending but overall improvement from last year that they can continue to build on. Looking forward to their bowl game and what they do next year! Go blue!

I’m still not sure why I did this to myself. I was never going to own a house, yet there I was: browsing Zillow as if I could buy one the next day. It’s fun when you come across the weirder...

Would be remiss if I didn't mark the occasion with something V for Vendetta related. We got a glimmer of hope last night but we still got work to do, y'all. Keep up the fight, support each other, and let's build a movement that can't be ignored and won't be forgotten!

I think we need to bring back the fear of the sea. Deep sea mining can have massive ecological impacts and I'm not entirely sure it's worth it. Let's bring back the sections of the map we dare not tread, for there be monsters in those waters.

Still figuring out how to blend these, but I think it always goes back to the unknown. We didn't know what lurked in the dark, and we can no longer say for sure what's beyond our screens. Is the threat human, corporate, artificial, or are the ghosts in the machine more literal?

So what does it say about us, as the folklore evolves, and we fear new things, in the dark...

Superstitions surrounding luck fascinate me. They're just a small way for us to feel in control over the chaos of life, and stories like Final Destination have so much fun playing with them!

Hey y'all, I'm Bryce! I generally write occult horror and cyberpunk. And my childhood fear was probably dolls. Had my mom describe the plot of Child's Play to me as a kid and it scarred me for life 😅

Hola, Horror Writers. I'm going to post and eat as I've pretty much just walked in. But, we're all about it today, so close to Halloween!
Tell me tell me. What scared you as a child?

No links, no hawking books please, till the end. Thanks Thanks.

There's just something about a good radio station that makes music hit different. Idk, maybe it's the fun bumpers or the commentary provided by the hosts between songs, but I find it far easier to just passively listen to 89X than whatever the algorithm decides on. Good curation helps too, I'm sure.

Between the Detroit Tigers and the Carolina Hurricanes, can I please have a team that doesn't go into extended playoff overtime? I'm still recovering from the last one!

A few months late, but so excited to hear 89X came back on the air in Detroit! That radio station defined my taste in music as a kid. Definitely going to be streaming that as I work and looking forward to listening when I'm back in the area!

In order for the United States to become a party to the International Criminal Court and have our officials be subject to trial at The Hague, the US Senate would need to ratify the Rome statute by a two-thirds vote. Let’s start running on that.
