Tomorrow at 19:00BST I’ll be on @ww2tv.bsky.social having a chat with Woody about Jungle Commandos and answering your questions! So if there’s something you want to know about the Third Arakan and/or the book, now is your chance to ask! ☺️

I am beginning the journey of "processing" my best bud Colin's passing yesterday. It was on the cards - cancer of the oesophagus is one of the shittiest ones, but we were hopeful, especially after he had a brief upturn 3 weeks ago.

I'll miss you mate, the beers, the gigs, the war talk and the craic

People adding extra information and detail in comments is brilliant. But when they do it in a passive aggressive tone it is frustrating. Things like "a proper historian would have said this"

Of course, but my point is, it used to be so simple

I tell you what Content Creators like to see in comments. People pointing out all the things you DIDN'T say about the subject. We love that, we really do. Nothing pleases us more, after all the effort put in to streaming, to be reminded about the omissions.

Do that more, said no creator EVER!

Is it getting harder knowing where to pay for a meal at restaurants these days?

Will you bring the bill to my table? Or do I need to go inside, and if so, do I need to know my table number? Does the server have a machine? Will you tell me how to pay, or do I need to figure it out myself?

YT comment of the Day. A viewer called @bfc3057 said I was "hiding behind anonymity"
Yep, somehow, despite the fact I appear in every show, wearing my hat, with my name under my image, I am hiding my identity.

Unless I am not me? And if I am not me, who the fuck am I? Shit, am I an AI creation?

YouTube comment of the day, on a Bagration video:

"Hard to believe, only now in 2025, a western writer work a book about the worst deffeat of German Army. Why not publish before. It was prevented by The FBI, CIA, The Ku Klux, Klan, John Birch Society."

3 Perhaps the most interesting grave today was among these 4 French aviators. Tavi Kainuku was from Tahiti in French Polynesia. This was the crash of Douglas Boston.

2 Lister was from Yorkshire and Miller from Australia. Their Mosquito went down in Ménil-Hubert-sur-Orne.

1 I'm constantly, reminding people that the war in France was international.

F/L Nesbitt served in 266th Rhodesian Squadron, having emigrated to South Africa first from County Armagh in Ireland.
