If you didn’t get a lot of snow from last weekend’s storm in the mid Atlantic/northeast, then don’t worry! Appears we’ll have another shot at a northeast snowstorm/blizzard this upcoming weekend (although still uncertain how it evolves)

Major winter storm now in full swing across the Eastern U.S, including a major ice storm, with freezing rain currently from about Houston TX to West Virginia. Half an inch of ice was reported in Nashville, and power outages are becoming widespread in N MS into NW LA.
January 25, 2026 at 10:56 AM
Second phase of the winter storm starting to materialize, and the truly colossal size of it is starting to become evident, with snow from the Mid Atlantic/Midwest to New Mexico. This round will also see the true onset of the ice storm overnight.
January 25, 2026 at 12:59 AM
Update: **0.75** Inches of ice accumulation reported near Hall Summit, Louisiana!
January 24, 2026 at 5:12 PM
Ice accumulation reports of around half an inch already starting to come in this morning near Idabel OK and Mount Enterprise TX, which has brought down large tree limbs and taken out power. Second round of precip starting to take shape in West Texas.
January 24, 2026 at 4:19 PM
Winter Storm now well underway for the Eastern U.S. Southern Arkansas has been getting Sleet/Freezing Rain for about 12h straight already. Lots of snow already up north of that.
January 24, 2026 at 12:27 PM
The Governor of Maryland, Wes Moore, just joined Ryan Hall’s stream for the upcoming snowstorm. Things getting underway out west as we speak.
January 23, 2026 at 11:16 PM
Atlanta GA, Chattanooga TN, Vicksburg MS, Rolling Fork MS, and Charlotte NC now also are in Ice Storm Warnings.
January 23, 2026 at 5:50 PM
NWS Lake Charles has now also issued an Ice Storm Warning for Western Louisiana into extreme SE Texas! This is their first ever Ice Storm Warning issuance.
January 23, 2026 at 5:44 PM
A potentially catastrophic ice storm with accumulation totals near/over 1 inch is possible, with lower totals from 0.25 to 0.5 inches in a broader corridor from Texas to possibly Tennessee. A second maximum with >0.5 inches of ice is expected in the carolinas.
January 23, 2026 at 1:35 PM
Good morning.
Our major winter storm enters the first phase later today in the Southern U.S. You are almost out of time to prepare for impacts.
Conditions will deteriorate from there, with all modes of precip in play. Extreme impacts possible in N MS and Western Carolinas.
January 23, 2026 at 1:25 PM
Still a lot of fighting between models on how much precip farther south is freezing rain or sleet. Something like RRFS might be closer to reality here, but honorable mention to NAM 3km's sleet storm of the century.
Winter Storm Watches have gone up in... a lot of places.
January 22, 2026 at 1:19 PM
A major winter storm is still expected to hit the Eastern U.S this weekend. High likelihood a large corridor from Oklahoma to Maine sees over a foot of snow, with >2ft totals likely somewhere in that corridor.
January 22, 2026 at 1:14 PM
Alongside the widespread half inch totals, most of the individual models (as well as EPS) suggest a corridor could receive more than an inch of ice somewhere in AR, then a second maximum in the Carolinas/Georgia.

⚠️Euro has been very aggressive with ice accumulation.
January 21, 2026 at 1:29 PM
A major winter storm and arctic blast will hit the Eastern half of the U.S this weekend. Both leading global models suggesting snow totals over 2ft in some areas. Ice totals over a half inch will be possible from Texas to Virginia/NC.
January 21, 2026 at 1:20 PM
Major arctic blast and winter storm late this week and weekend over the Eastern U.S.
Extreme cold alerts for the Dakotas and MN going up. Winter Storm Watches already being issued in the southern plains ahead of the high end winter storm this weekend.
January 20, 2026 at 8:14 PM
A high impact winter storm for the central/southeastern U.S is looking increasingly likely this upcoming weekend. Snowfall totals locally >1ft and major ice storm being advertised (to an extent) by both global models. Euro with a devastating ice storm.
January 20, 2026 at 1:16 PM
Slight Risks of severe weather in place for this morning and tomorrow. Oklahoma is the focus today, with some tornadoes already being reported. Tomorrow is focused on LA and MS, with wind damage and a few tornadoes possible.
January 8, 2026 at 1:44 PM
Severe weather is possible on Friday for the Low-Mid MS River Valley as a trough ejects into the region. Tornadoes could be possible, but not likely to be particularly strong, at least right now.
January 5, 2026 at 1:06 PM
Line segment along the Southern Illinois/Indiana border producing damaging winds and a couple embedded tornadoes.
December 28, 2025 at 11:44 PM
A dynamic storm system is impacting the Midwest/Northeast U.S and Canada today. Severe weather and tornadoes are possible for Illinois and Indiana, while a blizzard affects areas farther north. Freezing rain may also occur from Canada into the Northeast U.S.
