The layoffs at Hoskinson Contracting and Hoskinson Concrete are due to the completion of the Hoskinson Health & Wellness Clinic in Gillette, according to the companies.

The concrete business will close permanently. Wyoming Workforce Services is assisting laid off workers.

Though the court's decision is a relief to some counties that worried about having to potentially pay back millions, lawmakers have since expanded the tax exemption in question, meaning local governments will receive less revenue going forward.

Recent snowfall and plunging temperatures gave Wyoming ski resorts the weather they've been hoping for after a dry and mild November.

Two resorts will open to skiers by Friday, and managers elsewhere hope Mother Nature brings more winter.

Although evidence of a new infusion of bloodlines is lacking, both transplant animals are alive, and breeding is anticipated to occur soon if it hasn't already.
