I won the pioneer showcase with Izzet Phoenix 🐦🐦🐦🐦

I expected to go 0-1 drop, but my tournament went smoothly 🫡 Thanks to O_Danielakos for the clean decklist!

And congrats to @holdtheelle.bsky.social who split the finals with me in the steel-cutter mirror match🤝

Accurate, Cori Steel-Cutter is really not okay for pioneer

Split finals of Pioneer Showcase Challenge today playing my beloved Vivi :3 Haven't changed main deck in a while, messed with sideboard and feel like it was largely positive changes

Excited to be one of 64 people to play Pioneer for a PT invite in 2025 come December LOL

I used to be afraid of playing Phoenix because the decision tree can be so overwhelming ! I never brought the deck to any serious paper event.

To win an event with the deck despite the complete lack of reps is the confidence boost I needed 🫡

This is Brian Merichiko (left) and Dave Crowley (right).

Dave misplaced his Vintage deck filled with cards like Black Lotus at a local restaurant. Brian, an employee there, found the deck and somehow tracked Dave down at the EW and got him his deck back. What an amazing and touching story!

7-2 in the legacy showcase challenge with a vintage deck !

I'm focused on modern these days, so I just netdecked a very stock list.

This archetype has a very strong proactive gameplan and is really not easy to attack (I beat every null rods today).

Losses were to Doomsday and Mississipi River!

One month and a half before the european RC, I'm once again asking myself if it's too late to learn amulet titan 🐒

It is too late to learn amulet Titan sadly

Any thoughts on the Weapons Manufacturing tech going forward ? I like the "only play the good payoffs" approach but I'm not sure what's the best enabler structure 🤔
xenowan.bsky.social
I split the finals of the last important event of the season to lock 1st place 🫡

The tournament structure was Duel Commander + EoE draft:
- In DC: Thrasios control, a new build created by Jules Lestienne
- In draft: UW flyers with a double spell subtheme

My prize was a revised Underground Sea 🤑

Trop fort, il va juste falloir bosser sur ce problème de draws 🐒

Good luck Thierry, fais du sale stp

It took me a lot of self-discipline not to submit Breach + Gifts Ungiven after going 10-0 with the deck in leagues yesterday.

I'm trying my best to play the good cards 🫡

Top 16 in the vintage championship with Dimir😼

Thanks to team Grindstone for working with me on that list! And especially to @univercemtg.bsky.social who found some great techs 🤝

I beat 6 Lurrus decks (3 Mirror, 2 PO, 1 breach) and lost to Dredge and a Tinker brew

Vintage token acquired thanks to the power of clown car 🤡🚗

I only get to play the format a few times a year, but it's always fun!

The shell felt promising, but the list is still very rough (especially the SB) and needs tuning. I liked the Nettlecyst "aggro" pivot

One of my mtg-related ggoal for 2025 was to play more paper events and try to become a better "paper player". I enjoyed the process and I think I did a good job!

I'm currently seating at #1 in the EUL national ranking for France and should get an invite for the final event 🫡

Modern is an incredible format, currently enjoying a metagame full of diversity. My overview of the winning decks and metas from 10 Modern Pro Tours offers an insightful historical perspective. www.magic.gg/news/metagam...

Tamiyo has been excellent for me in this deck: she supports the draw-go gameplan, is a pitch for 1 or a blocker against energy, gives you game objects for whir and Reliquary etc.

I'm really glad that I get to skip standard season and never buy Vivi lol

@fireshoes.bsky.social
xenowan.bsky.social
This weekend, I qualified for Turin playing a slightly innovative build of Belcher that I've been working on with Nick Cosgrove 🫡

With the metagame being so combo-centric, Flare is a bit worse while FoN gets better. Tamiyo and Stock Up gives you enough card advantage to support 7 pitch spells!

This list makes a lot of sense for open decklist. In close decklist, I'd trim a bit of interaction (flood maw was nice, the rest not so much). Hellkite could probably be something else as well. The SB is a bit too reactive, this deck is too durdly and synergy-driven to play the flash game
