My new cheap and cheerful data and power distribution box a #SVBONY SV241. I knocked up a home-made PWM controller for the dew shield using a #M5Stack Atom Matrix and Atom PWM base.

The shakedown session, with a few galaxies. Here is M51 and M101. #Celestron CPC-800 F6.3, #LiveStacking #ZWO ASI533M
Lunar live stacking with #SharpCap , #Celestron CPC-800 F6 and #PlayerOneAstronomy Ares-C Pro camera. The Moon was 22% and 32 degrees high. Lunar/Solar/Planetary tool in SharpCap is amazing for real-time views. A little overexposed but had a great time exploring with the help of Virtual Moon Atlas.
The approach of Storm Éowyn to Ireland and the UK. Captured by NOAA 19 and Meteor M2 on the 23rd January 2025 11:00 (UTC). All are IR images. The false colour NOAA 19 image is of cloud tops.

#SatDump v1.2.2, #Airspy #SDR and turnstile antenna.
Live stacking in #SharpCap of NGC 2024, The Flame Nebula in Orion (20th January 2025). #Celestron CPC-800, #PlayerOneAstronomy Ares-C Pro camera. Using #Stellarium and #AstroPlanner. Stretch that image! 😀

Messier 1, straight off the camera. #LiveStacking with #SharpCap. 20 January 2025 21:08:03 (UTC), #Celestron CPC-800 + Player One Ares-C PRO : Subs: 35, Sub Exp: 16.0 sec, Total Exp: 560.0 sec, Alt: 60.7°, Az: 165.8°, Airmass: 1.1, App Mag: 8.7

Great observing session tonight, and then clouds!
Open Cluster Messier 103 ( NGC581 ) in the constellation Cassiopeia. #SharpCap #LiveStacking - 15th January 2025 21:46:23 (UTC), #Celestron CPC-800 + Player One Ares-C PRO : Subs: 101, Sub Exp: 5.0 sec, Total Exp: 505.0 sec, Alt: 57.3°, Az: 310.1°, Airmass: 1.2, App Mag: 7.3. #Astronomy #EAA

NGC7331, Deer Lick Group of galaxies. Observed under an 80% Gibbous Moon. 09 January 2025 20:21:09 (UTC), #Celestron CPC-800 + Ares-C PRO : Subs: 93, Sub Exp: 16.0 sec, Total Exp: 1488.0 sec, Alt: 35.4°, Az: 283.1°, Airmass: 1.7, App Mag: 9.9. The light gradient from the Moon is very apparent!
NGC 7635, Bubble Nebula (Caldwell 11), Cassiopeia. Taken with a #Celestron #CPC-800 @ F6.3 and ZWO ASI 533MM camera. Live stacked in #SharpCap, 9th January 2024 20:18:25 (UTC) - Subs: 90, Sub Exp: 8.0 sec, Total Exp: 720.0 sec, Alt: 55.3°, Az: 311.7°, Airmass: 1.2, App Mag: 7.2
Spiral Galaxy IC342 (Caldwell 5) captured with a #Celestron CPC-800 @ F6.3 and a ZWO ASI 533MM camera. 60 subs @ 15s exposure for a total of 15 minutes. Stacked live in #SharpCap with no post processing ( #EAA ). 2024-01-10.
#SharpCap Live Stack of Messier 33, The Triangulum Galaxy. 03 January 2025 18:28 (UTC), #Celestron CPC-800 + #PlayerOne Ares-C PRO : Subs: 102, Sub Exp: 16.0 sec, Total Exp: 1632.0 sec, Alt: 69°, Az: 169°, Airmass: 1.1, App Mag: 6.5
Plus, SharpCap DSA of M33's Globular Clusters.
Messier 42 - Great Orion Nebula, live stacked in #SharpCap - 15sec x 50 subs with Altair Astro 294C, CPC-800 @ F6.3. The first object I observed when I started EAA. From that moment, I knew I was selling my eyepieces 😀
Meteor M2-3 pass over Europe 27th November 10:45 UTC. Decoded and processed in SatDump v1.2.1. AirSpy Mini #SDR, turnstile antenna in the loft 😀 #clouds #weather
The Sky Searchers Forum has added an #EAA Double Star Challenge (theskysearchers.com/viewforum.ph...). As a fun exercise, I measured the separation and position angle of the stars from my images using AstroImageJ (www.astro.louisville.edu/software/ast...) 😀The results matched with the WDS catalogue
#SharpCap live stacked image of the planetary nebula Messier 27 (M27). Exactly, how you see the object live! That's
#EAA! Visual astronomy is dead😀

20 August 2024 21:57:32 (UTC), CPC-800 + Ares-C PRO : Subs: 57, Sub Exp: 16.0 sec, Total Exp: 912.0 sec, Alt: 61°, Az: 175°, Airmass: 1.1, Mag: 7.9

Live Stacked in SharpCap. The edges of the image show the field rotation of an Alt-Az mount doing #EAA
Comet C/2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. 23 October 2024 18:25:05 (UTC), CPC-800 + Ares-C PRO : Subs: 100, Sub Exp: 5.0 sec, Total Exp: 500.0 sec, Alt: 26.0°, Az: 240.0°, Airmass: 2.3, Mag: 5.9

SharpCap Live Stacking with comet alignment turned on, hence the stars trail due to the motion of the comet.
#EAA setup part 2! This YouTube video from December 2022 shows my basic setup. Since then, the laptop has been replaced with a mini-PC, but the main setup is still the same.

EAA reignited my interest in #Astronomy. The colour, structure and detail is amazing.

Here's my #EAA setup part 1. A 15 year old, Celestron CPC-800 (8 inch SCT/Alt-Az mount). F6.3 focal reducer, Celestron Electronic Focuser, and in this case a Player One Ares-C PRO camera. Stubby mount arms requires a diagonal to get the correct back focus (105mm), and not hit the mount!
Storm Bert, swirls off the coast of Ireland and the UK. Meteor M2 image 10:38 UTC (23/11/2024). Processed/decoded in SatDump 1.2.1, AirSpy Mini #SDR & turnstile antenna in the loft.

It's windy out there. Stay safe everybody.
I have always been interested in astronomy, and in the last few years I have replaced my eyepiece with a camera. I still observe in real-time, using live stacking software. Electronic Assisted Astronomy #EAA, is simply amazing.

Here is my attempt at capturing a comet.
