I get why Trump would throw Epstein under the bus when things started heating up. I don't get why the Chief would hold on to this information until 2019. If this conversation did indeed happen, it's no surprise that Trump's instincts were to get ahead of it. He's connected.
Trump was, of course, lying about some of this in 2006 -- no doubt trying to get ahead of things. But it's interesting that he said Ghislaine was evil.
