Today's live made me want to share a little spoiler on a #namgi fic I will post today. Namjoon here is also a yapper who talks too fast about too many different things at once 💜

Namjoon circled the block once before he went in. He’d arrived early, then made himself late. He hated being the first to show up anywhere — it gave him too much time to imagine the wrong version of things. Journalism hadn’t taught him how to date. He always talked too much, or not enough, or veered off into abstractions when the other person just wanted another drink. Hoseok had laughed: You need someone who can keep up.

Summer leaned in. Air filled with the heat that pries open sleep. On a Sunday morning Yoongi wrote a letter he didn’t intend to send. It began: “I have always liked small rooms.” He listed every small room he could remember: the pantry in his grandmother’s house, the ferry cabin that shook like a cheap drum, a waiting room in a clinic where the magazines were a decade old, the tailor’s fitting booth where customers turned, embarrassed by their own bodies. He had the thought that love is only possible when you accept the size of the life you can bear. He folded the letter and slipped it under the false bottom of the tea tin. That night, he dreamed he was trapped in the elevator again, but alone. The emergency light flickered, then steadied. When the door slid open at last, he stepped out into a corridor that extended without end and realized he had become another person’s future, misdelivered.

Namjoon, for his part, began to collect coincidences. He wrote them in a notebook he kept under the atlas. “July 13, bus number 402 appears three times in an hour, each time with a different driver.” “July 18, sparrow trapped in the office lobby, refuses open door, leaves by stairwell.” “July 23, headline I cut last winter returns with the same words in reverse order.” As if conscious life were a set of tiles and he was trying to see the picture by counting how many had the same shade of blue.

People who have not been in love might say that nothing happened between Yoongi and Namjoon. People who have been will know that everything did.

I rewatched In the mood for love by Wong Kar-Wai one of these days and couldn't shake the story out of my had, so a fic was born

Yoongi kept it small. “We steal back what wasn’t offered,” he said. “We plant memory where they try to salt the ground. Namjoon writes maps the city forgets to erase. Hoseok cuts alarms and makes new doors. Jin keeps us stitched and standing.”

“And you?”

“I keep the light from going out,” Yoongi said, before he could call it anything else.

“You sound like Robin Hood,” Jungkook murmured in disdain.

Jungkook shoved, breaking free. Yoongi’s knife grazed fabric, splitting open the boy’s jacket. Jungkook’s laugh came sharp, almost feral. “Careful. You’ll have me undressed before we even know each other’s names.”
