Water texture that they provided matches up. Had to stretch it a bit, but that's it.

Can't find the source, but I don't think it's even a water texture? Looks more like cracked earth. It's also a repeating pattern, I could make a seamless background out of it.

If you need more proof- you can see that they actually used the Pocket Monsters (ポケットモンスター) logo from Sword and Shield as a base for their title.

That font changes from game to game.

Also thinking that if the colors for Gen 10 really are blue and yellow, then it could be to Sun/Moon what X/Y was to Ruby/Sapphire.

See how they were both a similar red and blue but the order was swapped. Maybe so they were visually linked?

When the argument is "it feels unearned" vs "doing all 26 ranks would have been too tedious," it sounds to me like having 26 ranks was a bad idea to begin with.

Also like maybe the battling isn't that fun. 🤷

I was going to comment on the 🔶🔷 name tags being red and blue like the supposed leaked titles for Wind and Wave but turns out Ho-Oh and Lugia's titles have always been like that.
