Karen Giménez Orenga is a biotechnologist at UCV (Valencia). Karen studies human endogenous retroviruses (HERVs) as potential biomarkers for #MECFS #fibromyalgia and #LongCOVID. She also explores how HERVs in our DNA influence the immune system and may contribute to these conditions🧬

Our newest member is Leonardo Vincenzi 🇮🇹 Leo is a bioinformatician and postdoc at @meduniwien.ac.at. He researches #MECFS genetics to discover causative variants. In his postdoc, Leo also studies #MECFS prevalence to seek evidence that can facilitate the diagnosis of the syndrome 🧬🧑‍💻

First up is Katharine Seton, postdoc at Quadram Institute with Prof Simon Cardings group. She studies interactions between the microbiome and immune system in #MECFS, particularly the mycobiome. Kath also leads the LightMEUp study, a pilot trial on red light therapy in #MECFS🔬
