🟠 Squishy solids are simulated using the reference map technique.
🌊 Fluids are simulated using the lattice Boltzmann method.
🟪 FSI is smoothly coupled on one computational grid.
🙏 This project took many years to complete. Thank you to my advisor Chris Rycroft for your guidance and support! (3/3)

🆕 Our lattice Boltzmann reference map technique (LBRMT) introduces a new way to couple moving deformable solids of different densities with LB fluids—using one grid to run them all. It can simulate rotating, settling/floating, actuating with applications in complex suspensions & active matter. (2/3)

🎉 Happy to share that my longest Ph.D. project, “A fully-integrated lattice Boltzmann method for fluid–structure interaction”, is online! We develop a fully Eulerian method to simulate many squishy solids in fluids. (1/3)
