Anecdotal but I've heard far more discussion around concessions in PQ top 8s this season than any previous one. For many people not interested in the invite, winning an event early on isn't very attractive. Top 8/Top 4 prizing and being allowed to play more PQs is the better deal

Made some progress on the collect 3 CF Overcrowded sidequest today, 1/3. Played Cindra this week. Deck is fun, I might try something out next week to mix it up though.

I can't tell if the "Cindra never converts" and "she just isn't powerful" thing is a meme, or if people are just in denial. She's won 3 callings and 8 Nats in 9 months! I fully expect her to continue to do well unless something major in the format shifts.

yeah it definitely feels like a tough balance to strike. All player groups are important and while it doesn't always have to be an either or, it does seem like comp and casual can often pull things in opposite directions.

If the limited format isn't good, I do think that not including it in OP makes a lot of sense, but of course we have no confirmation of this. I think that them wanting to switch things up is also a pretty valid explanation. Curious to see how prerelease will feel

Maybe all of this is to say, I just really miss having limited matter as part of the competitive ecosystem. Although after seeing some of the spoilers I wonder if the decision stems from the quantity of Super Rares. My early speculation is the format might be quite bomby.

World Premier Montreal is a weird event for me. I can't attend for personal reasons, however, I also don't find myself keen to watch despite usually enjoying limited coverage. There's no incentive to study the format, so I'd rather figure things out for myself at pre-release

Hoping we have limited for PT Yokohama. Pretty sad about no draft at worlds in Philly, really hoping it's not a trend.

Been debating about making this tweet now or waiting to see what happens, but decisions on Yokohama's format are likely being made now.
