That’s for the cartridge version scheduled for release next year. We did consider adding flash ROM, but decided against it for several reasons. I completely understand your point, and I appreciate the feedback.

Since Earthion lets you keep your power-ups via the password system and allows up to 99 lives, this exploit could give an unfair advantage. These changes will help ensure the rankings remain fair for everyone.

We’re also fixing an issue where players could repeatedly destroy high-value objects during the final boss fight by intentionally sacrificing lives to farm points.

We’re planning to release an Earthion update soon, which will fix bugs such as ranking display errors (enemy defeat count) and issues related to achievements.
We’re sorry, but this will require a one-time reset of the rankings.

Got dragged into some wild accusations and somehow learned my favorite Tetris track was made with Synthesizer V.
I always thought she was part of the Vocaloid family. Funny I only just found that out. 😂

So to be absolutely clear: no generative AI was used in Earthion’s final version, and we fully respect the work of human artists and voice talent.

Synthesizer V uses AI vocal synthesis, but it’s not generative AI like ChatGPT or Midjourney. It creates voice from written input using licensed voice models, with full consent from the voice providers.

Just to clarify: while we did use Synthesizer V in the prototype stage for placeholder voices, all of those lines were replaced by real human voice actors in the final release of Earthion.

Of course, we’re planning to keep going!
A beat ‘em up is definitely one of our goals, though it’s quite a challenge to make.
Our next project will probably be a different type of game, but stay tuned!

Remember those hand-drawn shmup posters on arcade walls in the late ’80s?
We asked legendary illustrator Mitsuhiro Arita, known for the Pokémon TCG, to bring that spirit into Earthion’s key visual.
