It is SO BAD. I try to stay level-headed about the changes they make, cause it's a free platform with lots of nice features, but they really really really really make it hard to defend some of these weird decisions lmao

This might be the most frustrating update I've ever seen YT do. Some of the recent tweaks like rounded thumbnails, etc. were reasonable and kinda nice, but this is terribleπMaybe if they split it 50/50, or kept the info/comments on the left side? But this?? Like I am genuinely at a loss lol

Let me reiterate one of these points again. Verified domain usernames. As far as I can think, this is the *perfect solution* in terms of identity verification.
The only weak point is forgetting to renew the domain, which is the strongest weak point I could imagine.
No "π§βοΈ" necessary. Imagine that!

I've avoided social media for the past few months and really enjoyed the freedom from politics, the constant arguing, childish drama, etc. Even in the tech community it quickly becomes toxic (QTs being the best example, ugh so bad).
I still like the *idea* of having a place to share tiny thoughts!

What might prevent bsky from turning into "that" website? Invite-only is a good start, and I *love* that it's open source. But is a fresh start enough?
Keeping moderation front-and-center is a huge plus, same with verified domain usernames, but cliques seem unavoidable in a large pool of people.
