GOOD NEWS. Our beloved Zakaria safely evacuated to Ukraine two weeks ago 🩷 He wanted everyone to know but has been SO tired & busy.

He’s trying to leave soon because of the situation there. Any help will go towards this effort & a laptop so he can start working.

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Zakaria. Zakaria’s mother is Ukrainian and they lived in Gaza City where he was a software engineer. Early in the war his house was fire bombed killing his brother and father and leaving Zakaria trapped in the rubble with significant injuries.

I cannot move south because my relatives are still here in the north. I cannot simply leave them behind. I will stay with them as long as I can, despite the danger. I’m trying to find a truck to move us south and doing my best to help secure their safety first

Hello friends, I’m still safe. The situation in Northern Gaza is extremely dangerous — heavy bombardment, internet cuts, and tanks closing in. I’m still here in the north but considering moving south. Sadly, there are no available means of transport and the roads are overcrowded

I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today is Zakaria. Zakaria’s mother is Ukrainian and they lived in Gaza City where he was a software engineer. Early in the war his house was fire bombed killing his brother and father and leaving Zakaria trapped in the rubble with significant injuries.

Reasons I can’t find work in software or feel discouraged to pursue projects, are many. To put it briefly: I tried months ago and learned the hard way. My field requires stability, something completely absent in Gaza. Many colleagues have already quit and turned to temporary work

What is happening to us?
We were waiting for the Ukrainian Embassy to evacuate me and my sister from Gaza — and now we are being displaced to the South instead.
We can only hope they will care for us soon

Today I went to my relatives’ home in Northern Gaza to collect my belongings. The situation was terrifying — tanks were nearby firing, and shells hit houses just meters away
