Democrats need to focus on the 38 billion dollars being spent on immigration prisons run by private corporations. Why are they being built if we are deporting people? Put 38 billion back in health care. Taking immigrants out of gainful work so we can pay for them in jails is beyond stupid

@chrislhayes.bsky.social Please look at the absurd notion that immigrants are being arrested to be deported, when ICE is building dozens of jails across the U. S. to hold tens of thousands of prisoners. All at taxpayers expense, 90 percent of the facilities are run by for profit corporations.

@crampell.bsky.social Seems totally crazy and absurd to say we are deporting undocumented, but building dozens of large prisons to put them in at taxpayers expense, while taking them off jobs that pay taxes and buy things, apparently to enrich the privateers running the prison camps.

@ezrakleinbotWith not enough immigrants paying into Social security, the system will be in crisis before the current projection of 2033. Add Ai job losses and therefore fewer people paying in, recipients will be in big trouble soon. Today's workers pay for today's retirees. Another Trump fiasco.
