if it's a story-driven game, if it's engaging enough, i can stand some dogass gameplay
but otherwise, generally, good gameplay alone can carry a game regardless of story

this game pissed me off SO bad because i really, REALLY wanted to stick with it because there IS worth in it, and in some aspects it is so impressive for the time
but some of the other game design choices here are so fucking stupid that they can't even be excused by the game's age

prefacing this by saying im actually dropping this game at Mt. Itoi because i refuse to grind ~6K EXP off of enemies who give pathetic amounts for endgame
such a charming and funny game, but the encounter rate and low EXP drops make it literally unplayable
