Why is this so hard for other politicians to do?
I'm still thinking of the fact that Zohran Mamdani went on The View, said "abolish ICE" and then got a round of applause

Listen up, gazillionaires, when other nations stop underwriting US debt and want their money, they know they aren’t going to get it from starving US citizens. It’s YOUR assets that will be seized. Get the monster out of office.

I think mayors of cities under attack by the Feds should push for laws forbidding hotels to house ICE. This is their Constitutional right.

I’m noticing a lot more blocking from people with whom I’ve had no interactions. You?

I wonder how many people today get the joke about the boat’s name in “Gilligan’s Island?” That would get the producers/network sued if the Kennedy administration were like Trump’s. www.theatlantic.com/ideas/archiv...

Note: when “thousands” demonstrate in Greenland, that is nearly 10% of the population. In the dead of winter. Against a former ally.

I won’t live long enough to see the damage Trump is doing undone; and unless you do something about it, neither will you.

I couldn’t find the film “American Fiction” at the library, so instead I read the source work online. It’s one of the best books I’ve recently read.
I’m reading Percival Everett’s ERASURE and now i cannot help but wonder if one of the meanings of the title of the book is *kinship* erasure. 🥚

In this passage Thelonious, the narrator, is puzzling over whether his father meant for him to discover the letters he had exchanged with his lover. +

It was nice for COZI to play one of the Columbo reruns one never sees on the “Universal Crime” channel. The one with Lisa, “what kind of dessert would I be?” The one where Columbo plays the tuba.

These “affordability” measures mean you won’t be able to get a credit card, you won’t be able to sell your house, and national debt will skyrocket (what’s that, you say it already did?) to a point where your children will have to pay or be subjugated by a foreign power.
Kevin Hassett on Trump's 10% cap on credit card interest rates: "Our expectations is that it won't necessarily require legislation because there will be great new Trump Cards provided voluntarily by the banks."

In every stage of these Oppressions We have Petitioned for Redress in the most humble terms: Our repeated Petitions have been answered only by repeated injury. A Prince, whose character is thus marked by every act which may define a Tyrant, is unfit to be the ruler of a free people.
