I keep hearing that artists have to keep creating, to preserve hope, to make people want to carry on…

…But that is really hard to do when you scrape the bottom of the barrel yourself. Can't pass on happiness if you barely have enough to carry yourself through the day.

A self-indulgent chibi of Jarr's redesign which @zephyrue.bsky.social is working on. He's my first and only male Chimeraén, as well as the only disabled one so far. His Ginkgo leaf tail is made of metal, and functions as a prosthetic. He lost his tailtip in a fight to protect the queen of his clan.

Honestly, the best way to make an artist’s day is by being very specific about what you like about a piece. Geek out a lil. Gush over how they use line, color, texture. Every mark is layed down by the artist, so if you can connect with those little moments, it helps the artist feel seen.

I do pyrography art from time to time, maybe someday when I feel more confident with my skills.. I’ll offer them as a very limited commission type. I like to embellish the burned blackwork with gold leaf for specific details.
