GitHub Copilot now supports models in any OpenAI API-compatible format (previously it only supported specific vendors or Ollama). @vscode.dev

I recently tested the mainstream CLI-based coding agents/tools and found that the poorest performance came from OpenAI's Codex. Perhaps their version rewritten in Rust has not been well-tested, as it frequently crashes and has other bugs. Can Codex be used to write its own code? 🤣

I previously mentioned that OpenAI's Chat Completions API has become the industry standard (even though it's subpar). But now, OpenAI is actively promoting the Responses API and hasn't pushed it as an open standard, which is almost like shooting themselves in the foot.
