#tdih 1968 HS students in Cleveland walked out to protest poor cafeteria food, unsanitary bathrooms, inadequate science labs, powerless student councils, & abuse by security guards.

Demands not met, so they protested again, with even more demands.

Next day, Motion Picture Association fired “Hollywood 10.”

I used to sail out with water deliveries during the occupation. It was a power to the people stance that most San Franciscans appreciated during those times. The government didn’t though.

For 9-yr old Chinese-American Martha Lum in Bolivar Cty., Miss., her exclusion on account of race from school was 'justified.'

#tdih 1969 -- 78 Native Americans landed on Alcatraz Island in San Francisco Bay & occupied the island for 19 months.

They called themselves “Indians of All Tribes,” made a proclamation, “We Hold the Rock,” & issued a set of demands.

a big runoff last night, in New Orleans:

Calvin Duncan was exonerated after spending *28 years* in prison; he tried to get his own case records from the New Orleans city clerk—but the office dragged its feet.

So Duncan ran to become city clerk himself, and yesterday ousted the incumbent.

Marchers carried signs with names of dead U.S. soldiers & of destroyed Vietnamese towns.

Among marchers were Vietnam War veterans.
