Sometimes if I’m stuck on a rhyme I’ll look up “rhymes with <blank>” and see if anything sparks. In this case…uh no, Merriam-Webster…I don’t thing “ass-clown” is the tonal match for “drown” I’m going for but thanks for the suggestion.

Holy hell. ‘Pluribus’ might be the best first episode of anything in a while, and Rhea Seehorn is *incredible* in it. Every time you think you know what kind of show you’re watching it surprises. Absolutely a refreshingly bold concept.

Went for dinner with a lovely friend & ended up down by the sea singing to the ocean with a beat up street-rescue guitar & trading tales under an incredibly bright moon as foamy waves crashed, scatterings of fireworks burst, and small fires flickered down the beach. A 5th to remember, remember, etc.

It being 🎃 season: If you like slow-burn, tense, artsy, cerebral horror movies you should check out the recent Australian indie film ‘Monolith’.
Hard to say much about it without spoilers, but it has some interesting things to say and has a lot of fun playing with genre tropes in clever ways.

Yes fine good add ‘lewk’ to the dictionary but ffs stop saying it’s “another craaazy word made up by Gen Z!” I grew up around people in the fucking 90s using ‘lewk’. Once again the Queer/Black/both slang-to-mainstream usage pipeline strikes, and lazy journos go “kids sure say the darndest things!”

‘Hardspace: Shipbreaker’ was one of my favourite games I played during the peak of covid times. Glad the devs at Blackbird have been able to fully buy back the rights to their IP, and am excited they’re gonna make more in that setting.

People who aren’t from / haven’t lived in DC may say the sandwich guy incident with the agents on U St was just a foolish, cheap stunt, but you have to think about the true cost of actions like that. In DC that sandwich probably cost like $30.

‘The Alters’ is the best indie game this year. Complex, a bit unintuitive & intimidating (but always thematically appropriately), deeply thoughtful, thought-provoking, and often wildly unsettling. Well done @11bitstudios.bsky.social . Looking forward to any DLC plans & whatever’s next from you all.
