I got bit by macOS failing to fully support MTU 9000 on 1Gb links again. This time on macOS Tahoe with ssh/scp and nfs client. SSH will drop connection after multiple files being transferred, NFS will just fail to mount. I change the MTU back to 1500 and everything starts working again. #macadmins

A low pressure system nearing Vancouver Island bottomed out at 977 mb overnight. As of 02:00 PT Wednesday it was at 981 mb.

For comparison, Hurricane Humberto is currently at 979 mb and Hurricane Imelda is at 974 mb.

I wish I could add websites to this Safari list with wildcards. Say I want to turn off content blockers for my internal home network URL "*.home.network.net". Only if you
1. Disable SIP
2. enable "strictatime" on the system mount
3. Format APFS with Case Sensitivity (Non Default)
4. Disable Spotlight
5. Modify kernel timing coalescing
6. Enable Root* (Its there by default but 🤷🏼‍♂️)
7. Copy 4 Unix binaries to /usr/local/bin

FileVault can now be unlocked over ssh after a restart if Remote Login is enabled and a network connection is available. More information is available on the apple_ssh_and_filevault manual page.

Don't forget, #macos26 will automatically turn on Filevault for you on all devices! So if you have any "Servers" that are headless, you can turn them off or setup SSH to put in the Filevault password on on boot. #macadmins

@cos I have suggested to the app developers a shortcut action to switch a nodes role. That way one could setup a shortcut to change role based on location or action.

Normalize “Client_Mute” in a multi-node household. If you have a roof node to better transmit keep as Client. Your handheld, car/mobile nodes and Seeed Card trackers are better served as “Client_Mute” for the mesh. #meshtastic
