I was quite pleased with this material. I was testing out an idea for a frosted glass effect, and it came out quite nicely, especially for such a simple setup! I honestly thought it'd take a bit more than that but for my purposes this works quite nicely. Ref in bottom right. #techart #gamedev

Not only did I find the episode very well done overall, but from what I'm reading the people complaining about that scene did not grasp the underlying point, the point of the whole show. They are missing the forest for the trees.

I love those moments where I'm working on something and I have a problem that I can't figure out. Then I finally give in and message someone with more knowledge than me for help, and in the process of hitting the send button, immediately figure out what I missed.

I've received a potential commission! A streamer is looking for an overlay for their stream. While I'm no 2D artist, I have been itching to put my skills to work and this seems like a perfect opportunity to build something truly unique! I've got the basic blockout done and am starting in on geo.

I got it! It took some reworking of the original version, but this is my mouse position WPO bounce. I modeled out a mushroom because it seemed like the best mesh to show the effect. It's not perfect by any means but I love the way it ended up looking!

For writers: How would you describe any of the five senses to someone or something that had no concept of that sensory experience? Like, smell to something that had no nose.

my next test was doing a simple variation study on a few potion icons. In this case, 5 different potions from the same base. I wanted to see how easy it is to create a sprite sheet that I could reference for multiple icons at once. #pixelart #techart #gamedev #art

I created a rendition of a supernatural creature from my favorite book series: The Bodach from the Odd Thomas series. It's extremely hard to make it look like more than a blob to be honest, they are inky black creatures that have no form, mass, or face. They look vaguely humanoid. #art #pixelart

I am stoked with the initial progress I'm making with Pixel Art. I decided to try reference work today with a stock image I found on the internet, and I'm excited by the results! Here's the side by side. I still have a long way to go but this was a refreshing attempt.

I'm seriously considering getting Aseprite. I ran the trial version today and I have to say it's simplicity and ease of use is fantastic. I made this in about 10 minutes just noodling about. Super clean and easy to get new frames on.

alrighty, I finally finished up my first attempt at a sprite animation. It's ugly, it's probably wrong and inefficient, but now I can get back to the C# goodness. I'll try this again at a later time but this will work for this project right now.
