Sometimes when I feel like the world is a terrible place, I try to remember that the door behind the giraffe exhibit at my old job is extra-tall so giraffes can go through it in case of a giraffe-related emergency scenario.

A set of steel double doors on a stone wall. One of the doors is open, and the other is labelled "A[frican] Pl[ains] BLDG B Giraffe". Above the doors is another set of doors, which can be opened in case a giraffe-sized door is needed. Outside the doors is a blue bucket of acacia branches.

A zoo visitor feeds the first of three reticulated giraffes standing in a very uncharacteristically orderly line. They are Stella (the elder stateswoman), Abby (Stella's daughter), and Bea (Baby Spice). Yes, I can still tell the giraffes apart.

I had a dream where I was falling through a vortex of golden fire and I heard a voice say "Before anything was, I AM."

In another dream, I met God as an old woman driving a fanboat. He told me his pronouns were He/She/They/It. Then I woke up.
