I would say that didn't help but the hell began with the 1995 Telecommunications Act that allowed companies to buy more stations. That was a disaster.

I knew that when the right overreacted to "cancel culture" it was because they were itching to engage in it themselves. What we need are a few lawsuits going after these doxxers. Impoverish them.

Northern New Jersey is in the thrall of the political machines. They didn't see the huge shift to the right in 2024. The question remains whether this was a one-off or the start of a trend. Quite a few state legislature seats hang in the balance on that answer.

Granted that Murdoch has been the purveyor of garbage for a long, long time. However, we used to have broadsheets that mattered and did good work. We used to have network news that did it's job. The rich have destroyed all that now to match Murdoch's PR outlet.
