I certainly will try. There isn't much to go on, but I do have some information.
Maya goddess emerging from a flower. Based on a whistle figure.
It's a passion project. Though it is in part pushed by personal ancestry too. My mom's side of the family is Lenca and my grandparents being educators I often bonded with them having conversations of topics I read about as a kid. Mainly animals and history.
Preclassic, early classic, early postclassic Maya; Huastec, Mixtec, Zapotec (classic and postclassic), Preclassic Michoacan, Early classic West Mexico, Yope, Tlatilco and Cuicuilco, Otomi, Teotihuacan, Toltec, Borgia Codex group, Tamasha and Cotzumalhuapa, Ulua valley, Chorotega and more.
I plan to update a bit a few of these. And there's some which have I have been sitting with notes collected to make.
With my ongoing projects happening, there is another I have had to put a pause with for the time. But I intend to return to at some point next year. That is my mesoamerican historical fashion studies. My goal is to eventually make a book. I will make a thread here of the ones I have done thus far.
I have heard nothing but bad stuff from people running Win 11. I still have 10 but I know soon I will have to make the make the change.

A day late, but posting anyway for #portfolioday

I mainly do mesoamerican related art, but also sometimes draw other cultures and myths from history. I also do historical fashion studies of mesoamerica and comics. You can support me on patreon or commission me. And look out for my comic this year!
Redesigned the Scooby Doo gang as Maya characters in the late classic period (c. 600-900).
You can enjoy him in all his glory in full resolution on my patreon along with more details on the iconography and what he is wearing. www.patreon.com/posts/117716...

So as 2024 is ending or ended depending where you are, a review of some of my illustrations I made. Some illustrations and sketches are missing and of course, my comic Dream Rider, which took up most of my time lol. Here's hoping for another successful year in art. 🥂 Happy New Year Everyone!

Happy New Year 2025!
It is the year of the snake (乙巳年). Wish you all the best in the coming year!

Balhae clothing, early 8th century
And of course I was inspired by the Bat Woman painting of Albert Pénot.
The codex borbonicus depicts Itzpapalotl with eagle wings and apparently the Eagle Lady was an aspect of this goddess. Meanwhile, I strongly believe she appears in the codex borgia married to the sun.
The Eagle Lady, who is the wife of the Sun (Tonatiuh). She is known by various names, including: Cuauhtli Izohuauh, Quilaztli (also referred to as the witch), Coacihuatl, Cuaucihuatl, Yaocihuatl, and Tzitziminicihuatl. This depiction is based on both the Codex Borbonicus and Codex Borgia.
Merry Christmas to everyone!
