I'll bounce back eventually, I'm sure.

I feel like I want to just sleep for a month straight. This is how you get followers of St. Trina.

It's like a plague doctor mask. Interestingly, there's an unused hollow wearing one as well.

I don't know if it's one many people would be quick to suggest, but my weird pick for a boss they should put into Nightreign is Crystal Sages. I think it would be fun to play into the angle of chasing around the real one among a bunch of clones when you're coordinating with other players.

I believe it's the same range, unless there's some weird corner case with specific items.
zulliethewitch.bsky.social
I was in a discussion about the Flask Heals Allies relic effect, and the topic of its range came up, which seems to be 15 meters, so if any of you were curious, here's what that looks like. You can see Revenant is barely close enough for it, but Wylder is too far away.

Gladius is the first Nightlord players will fight, but was also the last Everdark Sovereign to be added, barring Heolstor, taking the Night's loyal hound from an introductory boss to an equal among its deepest shadows. But how much has it really changed?

That is something that I've thought about, but don't have an answer for. I can say that, unlike Caligo, Gladius doesn't give the impression of having been a scrapped Elden Ring boss, at least not from its ID or how its data is structured.
zulliethewitch.bsky.social
I was looking at Gladius and I feel like I've seen something very similar to this style of long trailing tufts of fur it has instead of ears on a fictional wolf before, but I've been unable to place it. Anyone happen to know examples of something like it?

It would be pretty easy to do something like this through modding without needing to actually spawn Libra, because the Twisted Reincarnations just function as a spEffect applied to the player. So all you'd need to do is just manually apply one of those spEffects at random as the player spawns in.

Everyone gets the same stats if they take the deal.
zulliethewitch.bsky.social
A fun element is that you could arguably count it as a drawback and make a Relic with two powerful benefits to offset it. Maybe an effect that boosts item discovery and alters droprates to favor your Reincarnation, and on the start of day 2 you get another random Libra deal without paying the cost.
zulliethewitch.bsky.social
Something I've thought would be fun would be a Relic effect that started you with a random Twisted Reincarnation from Libra and you had to adapt to it. It could be a bit of a problem in random matchmaking though, because you'd have no way to signal that you're like Strength Duchess or Faith Raider.

The Libra video was so much more work, just from how much extra data I had to go over to even be able to write the script, but I did enjoy some of the scenes I was able to do for it.

Libra has been one of the most peculiar bosses in not just Nightreign, but the entire Souls series, offering strange bargains to even his foes. Naturally his Everdark form added to this, but in a way that's been both surprising and somewhat divisive.

There is unironically a part where Kuro is making a silly face offscreen during a cutscene.

Another potentially relevant point is that FromSoftware evidently retained the rights to Sekiro, whereas Demon's Souls, Dark Souls, and Bloodborne are out of their hands and they had to actively buy back the rights to Elden Ring. As such, Sekiro may have been their most convenient IP to utilize.
zulliethewitch.bsky.social
Kind of a surprise, but also kind of not a surprise. Of all the properties to get an adaptation, Sekiro might have felt like an underdog in terms of popularity, but it has the advantage of a defined protagonist and clearer narrative direction. I don't know how to datamine an anime though.

I think, given Elden Ring's explicit connection to George R.R. Martin, it would be crazy for it not to be a Game of Thrones reference.
zulliethewitch.bsky.social
After finally getting to do a Grafted Blade Greatsword run, it occurred to me that there's something really funny about Nightreign making the Game of Thrones reference the best item you can get.

I was asked for a closer look at the ice carvings on each of Everdark Caligo's wingtips, so here those are.
zulliethewitch.bsky.social
Caligo may have been passed around between a couple games during development, but finally came to roost in Nightreign. Of the two dragons among the Nightlords, she fits the standard draconic mold a bit more, but she still has some chilling tricks to her.
