100% I feel for her family, but this should not be the focus of national news right now.
We all need to find alternative news sources outside of mainstream media.
They are clearly turning into propaganda and distraction machines.

The way Google News is trying to force feed me stories about Savannah Guthrie's mom is suspicious af.
I've NEVER clicked into one of them a single time, and repeatedly ask it to show me "Fewer stories like this".
Nevertheless, it's plastered at the top of my feed every time I open the app.

The USA has just dropped to 28th, its lowest position ever, in Transparency International's corruption index.

With a score of just 64 out of a possible 100, the USA is seen as much more corrupt than nearly all other developed countries.

This is Trump's America

DO 👏 NOT 👏 BANK 👏 ON 👏 THE 👏MIDTERMS

We've seen what this administration is willing to do.

Don't be naive enough to think they will just march peacefully into defeat and accountability.

Though people will try to draw analogies between now and other moments in history, usually in an effort to assuage fears, the truth is, this moment is unprecedented because the technology is unprecedented. The internet, social media, and AI are all pushing us to break through to something new.

But then I realized, I, like most people, am too scared to do this alone and wouldn't even know where to start.

We can't all just wait for a strike to materialize. We need to practice and plan for it in our communities.

My sincere belief is that a sustained general strike is the only peaceful way we will make real change in this country.

I found myself hoping I would wake up one day, see that a line had been crossed, and a strike would just happen spontaneously.

I'm getting out of the habit of saying "I'm good" when people ask me how I am.

If you're feeling mad/scared/helpless about where our country is right now, say so, and open the door to conversation.

We can't fix the structure if we don't rip off the facade.

I am not a sports guy, but whatever happened to teams based on community. How about we let the players decide who is on their teams instead of having rich business-men sell them in a draft like cattle.

1/ ProPublica collected handwritten letters in mid-January from children held at the Dilley Immigration Processing Center, the same facility where 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos was taken.

Hundreds of kids are still detained.

We’ll let the children’s words speak for themselves. 🧵

This is not surprising at all and entirely predictable. Red lines have already been crossed. We each need to think about what we can individually do to hold people in power accountable instead of just rushing from outrage to outrage mostly as witness.

Unfortunately too many are too complacent and privileged to realize that we are not the "free people" anymore.

If you're contributing to the community of America, legal citizen or not, you should have a say in where we go. It's really not that hard. When we silence one person's voice, we silence everyone.
