my PDS runs exactly like this! Though I’m using Caddy instead of nginx… configuration language seems more elegant, and built-in certbot is kind of nice.

in atproto (what powers bluesky), you own your own following list; that means, the follower/following sections of your profile is just a big query for "people that explicitly added [user] to their following list"/"people you explicitly added to your following list". so just block them.

I'm sorry if my response came off rude. I'm not crying. I wasn't trying to be mean nor I want to start a keyboard fight with a complete stranger. I wanted to reiterate on BlueSky's vision of community moderation. I'll try to educate myself to truly understand ongoing drama.

independent "labelers" exist to hide content or warn members of it. that's how moderation works at bluesky. you can disable the builtin moderation service and look for a community one or multiple community labelers to fill the hole of the defaults. that's how you end this "censorship".

i don't think atproto is very compatible with this idea of "decentralized social media"... after all, it was a twitter project. so, to be able to spin up a new bluesky instance and fix it to an specific topic, is to fragment and divide conversation which kind of misses bluesky's mission. 🤷🏽‍♂️
