I ran my home lab a long while on NixOS (synapse, and multiple docker containers - Laptop still runs it), would be great if you would address the little more shortcomings of NixOS. (Features that are poorly documented like Flakes - mainly the state of the wiki, although perhaps it's better nowadays)

Endeavour is great if you don't want to spend some time in archwiki. It has great defaults for most stuff and uses arch repos in the background as well.
