SIGH. My points were about the lack of preparations for TAs IN GENERAL to prepare them for addressing students with differing viewpoints. This is based on my OWN experience in in this situation. Geez, I thought Twitter was bad.....

Makes sense. I am CIS and work as a college instructor. It is a challenge, at times, to balance and acknowledge all views, even those that I find repugnant. I HOPE my students have their eyes opened enough to leave these views behind.

TAs should also learn to not take such views personally UNLESS they are directed specifically at the TA. To me, this is a different situation.

Agree 100%. TAs need to be prepared for this situation and how to respond to it. They need to understand that many students will hold beliefs QUITE different from their own.
